CHERIE BISH - 6 October 1984 to 15 December 2013

To see this Fund become successful, would have been an absolute dream.

Cherie completed her Bachelor of Marine Science degree at James Cook University in Townsville, and understood the pressure of student life. To have access to a Fund of this kind during her studies would have done wonders for her work!

CHERIE - OUR MERMAID

Cherie fought a long and arduous battle with aggressive colorectal, liver and lymph node cancer that she was diagnosed with in March 2009. While remaining brave throughout all kinds of procedures – from chemotherapy to radiation treatment and numerous invasive surgical procedures, she lost her battle in December 2013. This Fund has been created in her honour.

She was passionate about marine life and all that encompassed it. Throughout her journey, she sought and found solace in the ocean. It’s beauty brought her joy, comfort and a sense of calm – a far cry from her daily life in and out of hospital appointments.
